Our Team

 

 

Susan Mollison, founder of sumo, has a wealth of hands-on experience. She was awarded the Nick Carter Memorial award for contribution to Massage Services in March 2010 from the Scottish Massage Therapists Organisation.

She uses a combination of advanced remedial massage, sports massage, NMR (neuromuscular reeducation), AIS (active isolated stretch) remedial and therapeutic techniques in her therapy and rehabilitation programme.

 
Initial treatments with Susan will last approximately 1 hour and any further treatments with Susan will last approximately 30 minutes unless the client specifies they would like further treatments to last the hour.

Before launching sumo she worked with Dr Paul Lim and his colleagues at the Ochilview Complementary Clinic. Susan has also worked alongside Jackie Tiernan, founder of the Jackie Tiernan Practice and Philip Yeates (physiotherapist to the Scotland football team) in Dunfermline

Susan is a member of Athletes Angels allowing her to work at various sporting events i.e. Caledonian Challenge, Loch Ness Marathon etc.

She has diplomas in Swedish Massage, Clinical Aromatherapy, Remedial Sports Massage, Advanced Remedial Massage and Reflexology. Susan is a member of the Scottish Massage Therapists Organisation (SMTO), the General Council of Massage Therapists (GCMT) and the Sports Massage Association (SMA). 

 

Brian Laing offers Swedish Massage and Remedial Sports Massage at Sumo. He has diplomas in both therapies and is a member of the Scottish Massage Therapist Organisation.


Brian is also assisting on the Swedish Diploma course at Falkirk Massage School

 

Amanda Baxter offers Sports Massage, Hot Stone Massage, Advanced Remedial Massage, Thai Massage and Therapeutic massage at sumo.

 

Amanda offers treatments to Asda Employees at their site in Grangemouth and also works in a clinic in Dunfermline. She used to work with June Wood at Holistic Healthcare and at Penicuik rugby club doing sports massage.

 

She has diplomas in Sports Massage, Remedial Massage and Advanced Remedial Massage and is a member of the Scottish Massage Therapists Organisation.

 

 

Sara Priestley DARM SMTO offers Advanced Remedial Massage at sumo, blending Sports and Therapeutic Massage techniques to provide a complete treamtment customised for you.  Her knowledge has been gained from working in her own clinic and a number of corporate sites including Sun Microsystems, Asda Grangemouth and Sky.

Sara has diplomas in Swedish Massage, Remedial and Sports Massage, Advanced Remedial Massage, On-Site Chair Massage and Indian Head Massage. She is a member of the Scottish Massage Therapists Organisation (SMTO).

She is course leasder for Swedish Massage Diploma at Falkirk Massage School and has previously taught on a number of courses for the Lothian Massage School.

 

 

 

Terry O'Neill offers Swedish Massage, Remedial Sports Massage and Aromatherapy at sumo.

She holds diplomas in Swedish Massage, Remedial Sports and On-Site Acupressure Massage gained from the Western School of Massage. Terry also holds a HNU Scotvec Level 7 in Aromatherapy and Reflexology and is a Member of the International Council of Holistic Therapists and the Federation of Holistic Therapists.

She is a member of Athletes Angels and has helped at various events throughout the country in 2009.

 

 

Lynette Cobain BSc HNC offers Swedish massage, aromatherapy, Indian head massage and hopi ear candling at Sumo.

 

Lynette is a qualified nurse and also has an HNC in Complementary Healthcare.  She is a member of the Complementary Therapists Association and the SMTO.

 

Presently studying for her diploma in sports and remedial massage, she will be undertaking in house training with Susan.  A member of athletes angels and provides massage at sporting events all over the country such as Maggie’s Bike & Hike and Caledonian Challenge.

 

 

 

Dr. Andrea Guenther MRCGP, MFHom, DRCOG is a GP and a Homoeopathic Doctor. She studied Medicine in Berlin and graduated from University in January 1997. Dr. Guenther did her training as a GP in Scotland and became a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners in January 2003. She worked as a GP partner for 4 years until deciding to take a career braek in 2008 to look after her daughter.

Dr. Guenther started to study Homoeopathy in 2002 and qualified in 2006. She has been working as a Practitioner at the Homoeopathic Hospital in Glasgow as well as in Private Practice for 3 years. Dr. Guenther teaches for Falkirk Massage School and has also taught at the British Homeopathic Society. She is available for appointments at sumo on Monday's. 

 

Gary Flockhart MPNLP, MSNLP, MBIH is a Master NLP Practitioner, trained to the highest standard by Dr. Richard Bandler (Creator of NLP), John La Valle (President of NLP Society), and Paul McKenna (Europes leading Hypnotherapist), and has therefore learnt from, and modelled, the most respected people in the business. He now assists wherever possible on personal development seminars with the aforementioned masters.

He is also a qualified Meridian line therapist, well versed in the uses of EFT and TFT - killing fears and phobias fast. Gary is an Anthony Robbins Mastery University graduate, committed to excellence in every area of life, and continually looking for new ways to get as much fulfillment from life as possible. Gary believes that the key to a fulfilled life is freedom. Freedom from fears, freedom from restrictions, and freedom from limiting beliefs.

Gary is a certified member of the Society of Neuro-Linguistic Programming set up as a quality control measure by Dr Richard Bandler, the creator of NLP. He is also a certified member of the British Institute of Hypnotherapy (BIH), - one of the longest established associations of hypnotherapists/psychotherapists, committed to the highest standards of ethical practice and professional competence. The BIH is a member of the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council, also a member of the UK Confederation of Hypnotherapy Organisations (UKCHO), a national umbrella confederation.

 

 

Fiona Reid has been appointed new clinic manager at sumo and Falkirk Massage School and will be happy to help you with any enquiries when she joins the team in August 2010.

Simon Dickson BA(mus) ARMT DOSM started his career in holistic therapies in 2000, having worked as a training consultant within financial services for over 10 years.

 

He obtained diplomas in Swedish massage, reflexology and Indian head massage from south Trafford College in Manchester before studying in America, where he became a member of the American medical massage association. He gained further diplomas in advanced aesthetics and cosmetology.

 

On his return to Scotland in 2004 he achieved his diplomas in sports and remedial massage and advanced remedial massage from the Scottish massage schools in Edinburgh.

 

He has just completed his postgraduate teaching qualification in further education from the University of Dundee. In addition to teaching at Falkirk Massage School, Simon works as a therapist in bridge of Allan.
