After many months of hard training, WE DID IT!!!  Well done to all our clients, colleagues, family and friends who completed the 10K race on Sunday 25th March.  I’m sure that you will all agree what an amazing day it was for us all!!  It was great to see everyone exceed their personal goals and targets!!
For our next event we are hoping to walk the Speyside Way (or similar) probably in the Autumn.  We are in the process of putting together a package and will let you all know as soon as possible.  In the meantime, if this is something you may be interested in taking part in then please drop us an email at info@sumotherapies.com so we can get an idea of numbers.  A maximum number may apply and will be decided on a first come, first serve basis.

SUMO are extremely proud to have been asked to be part of the support team of therapists looking after cyclists taking part in the 2013 Race across America raising money for injured soldiers.  Susan and a small team will be making their way over the Atlantic in 2013 and we will be sure to give you updates as the year progresses.

Race Across America (RAAM) is one the most respected and longest running endurance sports events in the world. RAAM is seen as a pinnacle of athletic achievement not only in cycling circles but the greater sporting community as well.

Sumo are happy to announce our partnership with Wolanski’s Pole fitness.   As they prepare to attempt a Guinness World record this year and also hold their annual Showcase at St Mungo’s High School in September , we are really looking forward to working with and treating these athletes. Pole fitness has transcended into the most fun way to exercise, not only is it the very first dedicated Pole Fitness School in Falkirk and Stirling, but also the first in Central Scotland and Scotland open to both males and females with no age restrictions. Terry O’Neill is now fully qualified as an Iris massage therapist.  She is now specially trained in working with people going through cancer treatment or who have had cancer treatment.

Also, we are really excited to have been joined by Kate Griffin.  Kate will be providing Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD). A type of massage to stimulate lymph flow by using slow, gentle and specific strokes.  This is a deeply relaxing treatment which strengthens the immune system as part of a detox treatment, relieves fluid congestion, promotes healing of wounds and burns, improves the appearance of old scars, promotes the healing of fractures, torn ligaments, sprains and can be used after surgery to speed healing.  From August, we will also be able to offer this treatment to people suffering from lymphoedema, which sometimes occurs after cancer treatment.

Both Terry and Kate would be happy to speak with anyone who is interested in these treatments.
